Every great IT professional has a website. Even if it’s as simple as this, it’s the essence of setting up a web server, programming the website itself, making the content for it, deploying it, automating the deployment, that is actually fun. It’s a demonstration of technical expertise and you can make it as simple or as complex as you would like.
Some things I would like to talk about on here are new emerging technologies, personal opinions, tooling overviews, guides, explanation of my tech stack, educational resources, things I have learned, etc, etc. I’m new to writing for the public but I have journaled for a while and I’m always looking for an excuse to make a list or write an entry in my journal. I am actually writing this into my journal right now. I use Notion and plan to export this to markdown to see how it transfers over to the website and to see if I need to do anything crazy or jump through hoops to deploy content on my site.
I’m Cris, I’m currently 23, and I just moved across the country for my dream job. It’s been a crazy ride over these past few years, I went from working at a restaurant, to working at a grocery store, to Product Quality Engineering with NVIDIA, doing structured cabling for Meta, becoming a Data Center Technician for Microsoft, jumping to Cerebras Systems, going to Apple, and ending up at Amazon Web Services as an L4 technician. I have met so many friendly faces along the way, people who have served as pillars of knowledge, who I have level-set with and explained the reality of being in the tech sector. I love being in operations! I have yet to experience anything like it.
i aspire to earn 250k TC by the time I’m 30. Long way up, but I think I have a good plan to get there. I will likely climb the Operations ladder, then try to move into a devops/sysadmin role after getting more industry expertise. at the moment i have no certs but my experience, willingness to learn, and technical aptitude has gotten me pretty far. we’ll see what the future holds.
